Project Objective:

  • To determine the type of fault in transmission lines.
  • To determine the location of faulty in transmission lines.
  • To detect and inform the electricity department personnel about the condition of transmission line using IoT.

    Abstract:

    • In this project we try to create a system that can identify the type of faults and location of faults in transmission lines using IoT and Arduino uno microcontroller.
    • We also intend to inform the electricity department personnel about the condition of transmission line using IoT.
    • We use GSM module, esp2866 module to connect the GSM and Wi-Fi respectively. We use Node MCU to connect to the cloud which is called the IoT cloud. We will also develop Android application or IoT cloud for detection of location of the faults using IOT. We will also detect fire using flame sensor.
    • The proposed system can be effectively used in Distribution feeders or Distribution Substations(11kV). It can be used in Industries for Transmission line fault detection.
    • We have used the fastest and common mobile communication standard the GSM. It is the well-known 4G technology which is available everywhere. This project also supplies output on an application or IoT cloud format. This allows user to interact with the
    • Arduino uno microcontroller using graphical user interface. This project also uses IoT cloud which is most best clouds for performing mobile application using internet of things.

    Project Outcome/result/findings:

      Innovative Approach:

      • Detection of type of fault and location of the fault.
